Geoff Walter
Account Executive
Geoff Walter is an Account Executive with Corbett Public Relations involved in the day-to-day public relations activities, media relations, social media and special event management and other services provided in support of the firm’s clients.
Geoff promotes clients’ news stories and features to broadcast, print and online media outlets including Newsday, The New York Times, The Long Island Business News, News 12, FiOS1 News, Crain’s New York Business, and The Wall Street Journal as well as many professional journal and business trade magazines. He proactively monitors the media, including newspapers, magazines, journals, broadcasts, newswires and blogs for opportunities for clients. He creates press kits, media alerts and newsletters, distributes press releases, picture captions and public service announcements and pitches stories to targeted media.
In addition to planning, organizing, implementing and publicizing special events for the firm and its clients, Geoff also creates strategies for special event promotion and coordinates event logistics.
He researches and writes blogs relevant to the firm and to its clients’ industries and services. Daily he builds the online presence of the firm and its clients in support of their professional, entrepreneurial and/or business goals. He manages, monitors, updates and creates content for client social media sites including Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Google+, YouTube, Pinterest, and LinkedIn.
Geoff provides photography videography support for the firm and creates, manages, edits, posts and shares videos content and photos about the firm and its clients’ on social networks. In addition to mentoring and managing interns, he also teaches them to use marketing software, applications and implement proprietary marketing and PR strategies.
Prior to joining the firm, Geoff was an editor and reporter at AOL Patch, launching the Mineola site in 2010 and running the New Hyde Park portal for two years, overseeing a staff of freelancers and covering diverse topics ranging from community affairs to local and county governments to schools and sports. He also launched the company’s first internship program, partnering with Hofstra University School of Journalism on the Mineola site and with Adelphi University for New Hyde Park. His reporting has appeared in local newspapers such as the Mineola American, Manhasset Press, Garden City News, pre-2010 editions of the New Hyde Park Herald-Courier and Williston Times as well as the New York Daily News and Sportsnet New York (SNY).
He has won several awards from the Long Island Press Club in the categories of Breaking News, Sports Narrative and Sports Photography.
Geoff is a graduate of Chaminade High School and Fordham University.
Anthony Castoro
Graphic Artist
Anthony Castoro, founder of AstorGraphics, Inc., is a veteran graphic designer with over 30 years of experience. He has a proven ability to create compelling visual concepts and manage projects from inception to delivery in a timely manner.
Anthony has a keen understanding of the needs and goals of clients who are representative of the business, government and nonprofit sectors. He works in harmony with clients in developing effective branding, marketing and promotional materials, including logos, flyers, brochures, posters, advertisements, social media content and more.
AstorGraphics acts as the graphic design department for Corbett Public Relations.
Anthony has created the layouts for hundreds newsletters for clients including RE/MAX of New York, Inc.; Town of Hempstead Department of Industrial Development; Commercial Industrial Brokers Society of Long Island (CIBS-LI), Cruizin’ For A Cure Car Show; Nassau County Police Activity League (NCPAL); Long Island Fight for Charity and The Marty Lyons Foundation. He has been responsible for hundreds of marketing e-mails in support of client programs, events and special projects. He effectively utilizes Constant Contact and Eventbrite for distribution via the internet.
He was responsible for the layout of Long Island Business News (LIBN) 48- page insert, featuring ads and articles supporting the Long Island Fight for Charity’s primary fund raising event held every November. He has also designed ads for clients that have appeared in a variety of publications.
He has also been responsible for the layout and distribution of countless marketing e-mails in support of client activities from grand openings; conferences; press conferences; fund raisers and events such as a giant balloon festival; family-fun fairs, car shows, sporting events, galas, trade shows and golf outings as well as internal communications for several clients.
Anthony’s social networking skills have been invaluable in reaching client target audiences, successfully generating interest in their products, professional services and charitable activities. He is an expert designing for social media sties including Twitter, Facebook, Instagram and YouTube.
Anthony grew up on Long Island and is a graduate of California State University, studying under George McGuinness a nationally respected artist and graphic designer.
